Here are some reviews of both my books and website from my readers!

Laurie, I ordered your book back in November and read it through December. I just want to say that I had a hard time putting it down. When I read the synopsis before I bought it I thought “A mystery book on genealogy, how entertaining could that be?” But contrary to my initial reaction, the book really pulled me in. I was intrigued as well as learned a whole lot about what it was like back then. I could imagine what the people the characters were researching were like and could imagine walking down the dirt road to the general store. I highly recommend it and would defiantly read it again.

Websites can be a great way to find readers for your fiction title, and the website for An Old Fashioned Murder, a mystery novel by Laurie Pooler-Pelayo, succeeds in doing just that. This site, of course, highlights the book An Old Fashioned Murder, but it also introduces the other two (in-progress) books of the series – a great way to keep readers eager for more, especially since the author provides excerpts from the future novels. Another triumph of this site is how it ties the plot of the novel into the popular “real world” field of genealogy – and its potentially ardent readership.

A who dunnit with no expiration!!!
A very fun read that weaves that past with the present through 100+ years of this multi-generational mystery. It was an awakening to follow Lydia and her friends through the pages, as they pieced together the scraps and nuggets that genealogists and historians use to paint a vibrant film of people, places and events of the past. Not only was I eager to discover who murdered Julia's grandmother so long ago, but it planted a yearning to know more about how my ancestors lived; who they loved, how they lived and even all the flaws that made them human. I very much look forward to Lydia Proctor's next journey into the past!

I hope you're sitting down. I finally read the book and I really enjoyed it! It took me about 3 days with the third day being all day. I figured out who must have done the murder. Once I got to those final pages I didn't want to stop reading because wanted to find out if I was right or not!
