Lydia Proctor is back on the case - genealogy that is.  This time it's at the request of a Tri-Cities society founding member. When Jackie Grier asks Lydia to help solve a family dispute, Lydia takes the task on reluctantly. Patience becomes a virtue when Lydia has to appease Jackie and try to solve her family history problem the "right" way.

Murder, as she eventually learns, comes in many forms, both in the past and the present.

As always Lydia has the support of her good friends, Faye, Muriel and Julia.

Still Alive
So I survived Faire and am still recovering. I sort of got my house cleaned, installed a pergola patio awning and have a ton of stuff in my garage that doesn't fully belong to me (anyone want some shipping crates - wood nice - cheap?)

I have gotten a little more done on the final revision of book two. So much for getting it published by the end of Spring. It's looking more like Summer now. I have had more people ask me when the next installment is due. I feel so stupid when I can't give them a date: the weather, free time, vacation, government incentive money, etc. As a author originated author (that sounds funky huh?) it really depends a lot on me, which is good and bad. I generate the cover and the formatting and make sure that my editor did her job, and submit it for the rest - printing when needed. But honestly it is just finding the time to do it. It's the publicity and trying to get book signings and so forth. I think what I need is an extra four hours each day just to do the stuff on my list!

On the bright side though I am getting a handle on this genealogy president thing, and I am giving up being on the DAR board (local). I just don't have time to do everything and all of it well.

So I guess look forward to the next Lydia installment sometime after my pergola is paid off - sometime by mid summer. It will get printed - I promise!

May Day

May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii. I thought about all of my husband's relatives enjoying the sunshine and good music there. Too bad we here in sunny California don't do something similar.

I started formatting and making my final revisions on my second installment in Lydia's genealogical adventures. I think I'm actually up to chapter 8. I've found sections where I revised the sentence structure a little, tightening it up, or clarifying something. We're currently looking at 274 pages, which I believe was less than the first book. More Lydia and company in less pages.

Well I just wanted to make a quick jot into the blog. So much to do and so little time to do it in!
