Lydia Proctor is back on the case - genealogy that is.  This time it's at the request of a Tri-Cities society founding member. When Jackie Grier asks Lydia to help solve a family dispute, Lydia takes the task on reluctantly. Patience becomes a virtue when Lydia has to appease Jackie and try to solve her family history problem the "right" way.

Murder, as she eventually learns, comes in many forms, both in the past and the present.

As always Lydia has the support of her good friends, Faye, Muriel and Julia.
Join them as they make A Commitment to Murder.

Post Cards are in the Mail...
Sort of like the "Check is in the Mail"...the post cards are too. I mailed them the day before Christmas because I was sure with the mail rush they probably wouldn't get to their destinations for a week or so.

I've had a lot of hits on my web page which is awsome. Maybe the bookstores will take a peek once they get my first piece of promotion. I sent them throughout California, Nevada and Arizona.  I am not a big flier so anything that a car can get me to works just fine. It also has to be on a weekend because I have a student assistant T-TH so Monday and Fridays are the only days I can really take off.

As for writing...I did a little last week, but nothing this week so far. I did some cataloging for our South Bay Cities library. A little here and a little there.

Just like a turtle, I am slow and steady!

Christmas Tidings!
Well I made it through my first week of vacation freezing to death. It hit a high of 59 today and with the sun setting is back at 55, and dropping rapidly. You'd think with it being this cold it would snow.

So I put in A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart, one of my favorites (and not just because it's Patrick Stewart...well maybe...). I love Dickens, he was one of my first favorites. Today I took Alyse to the library and we checked out a bunch of books. I got Little Men and Jo's Boys, two books I have always meant to read and never did. What an opportunity to do so.

I finished the last edits on the third book. Once I get the second one back from my co-worker I can have that one gone over with a fine tooth comb too. Now all I have to do is win the lottery and I can print the next installment in the saga of Lydia's life. I'm currently working on the fourth, this time it's Lydia's family with the issue. It will be interesting to see how she handles a murder on her own turf.

Well Christmas is just a few days away.  Hope Santa is good to all of you.

Amazon and beyond
So I'm taking three weeks off this winter break. I will be spending time weeding, cleaning and straightening stuff up. Lots to do in such a little span of time.

I am so happy with how my book is progressing...thanks to everyone who has been so kind as to read it and pass it along as a recommendation.

As for Amazon, all the information, including the cover is now on Amazon and they have 2 copies in stock to purchase. They even posted that there was still 39 hours to order and have it in time before Christmas!

Remember too, that if you read it and like it ,you can post a review on both Amazon and at the Infinity website on my publisher's page.  Send it to me too, and I can put it on my web page too. The more feedback I get the more I can promote it.

Speaking of promoting, I will be spending at least one week sending out post cards and fliers to book stores and libraries. I am starting in the states I can easily travel to like on weekends and then will work eastward!

I have a small book signing of 4 tonight...it's a start!

Busy Day

Wow! I had 10 hits on my web page today! That's just to one pm.

We got our Christmas lights up and now we need to hit the other chores before my spouse heads to Vegas for a week - without me! It's for work, and like when Lance is out of town I get to be single parent for a week. My poor kids and the dinner choices facing them!

People keep asking me how many I've sold. To be honest I have no clue till the royalty statement arrives. From people telling me they have ordered my count is about 7. My friend Cathy missed her bus because she was reading the book. Her brother had to drive out from the Valley to pick her up. Ooops.

Let me know what you think. E-mail me here at my web page. Oh yea...I've got the start of the fourth one on my laptop. It involves two men who died exactly the same way...only one was murdered and the other wasn't. The back story is a wedding. Can't say who it is...but it's not Beth. Not taking that much reality into the realm of Lydia and company!

More later...
